"Conservative Champion for Scotland and Hoke County"

Melissa Swarbrick is not a career politician, she's a dedicated community leader with a heart for public service. She grew up in a family that taught her the importance of serving others before herself. Having been an active member of the community for many years, Melissa remains dedicated to making our region the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

Swarbrick received her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a small business owner in Moore County until moving to Hoke County in 2015.

As the Republican Nominee for House District 48 in the 2022 election cycle, Melissa was amongst the top vote-getters between both Scotland and Hoke County, coming very close to unseating incumbent Democrat Garland Pierce. Now, the time has come for Melissa to complete the mission and turn this seat red in 2024.

As crime in Scotland County is at an all-time high, Melissa is committed to cleaning up our streets and keeping our community safe. All the while, 7 out of the 10 public schools in Scotland County are low performing. This was not the case before Garland Pierce took office. Our graduation rates are declining, and our schools fall well below the state average in college readiness, advanced placement, and SAT scores. 18 years of photo ops with zero results is long enough! Melissa will improve and expand career and technical educational opportunities in our region. It's time for new leadership in House District 48.
